Organizational Clarity: “Sound Effects in E-learning: Top 8 Sample Music Sites” article
From the CommlabIndia community is an article from easy, cheap solutions to meet organizational needs. In an email I received was a link to: “Sound Effects in E-learning: Top 8 Sample Music Sites” by Gitika Nagra. With experienced and novice instructional designers constructing E-learning lessons for their organizations on a budget (we all have them) this article presents eight websites where you can find the music you need to up the level of your E-Learning training sessions.
Realistically, we have all sit in presentations in which a voice just drones on and on talking about the information presented adding music can actually help in keeping the learner's attention. With a little music, even boring subjects can be made to come alive so I would recommend using some of these sites for your E-Learning productions today.
But before you move ahead please take note of the “free” sites, free is always good whether you are working for an organization or self-employed, or even if you are a student creating a project for class, take the free option, FIRST.
These are the eight music websites listed in the article that will allow you to download music from creating your E-Learning training sessions:
- freesound.org
- Free Music Archive (FMA)
- Audionautix.
- ibeat.org.
- PacDV.
- ccMixter
- Partners In Rhyme
- Audio Archive

Organizational Clarity: “15 Examples of Interactive Video Quizzes in E-Learning #15” article
In an article called “15 Examples of Interactive Video Quizzes in E-Learning #15”, the author David Anderson compiled this list of different examples of video used in the E-learning process. Keeping the video being interactive allows the learner to have a visual during the learning process.
This also captivates their attention where simple text or verbal presentations can “bore’ the learner and decrease the effectiveness of the training program. Having a video in the training process also allows the visual type learners to succeed, when most training programs are usually straight forward and presentation related.
Being interactive allows the learner to be a part of the process instead of watching it, to put the solutions or material that they learned to work in a practical way. By practicing through these videos quizzes, this also helps the organization gauge the effectiveness of the training program while it is being implemented.

Organizational Clarity: “Vitalize Your Online Training Programs with Videos”article
In an article called “Vitalize Your Online Training Programs with Videos” by Sushmitha Kolagani, the author discusses why on-demand videos should be used in Online Training Programs. The basic tenant is that it is much cheaper than sending a trainer to various locations for annual events and presentations.
When it comes videos reusability, training uses or increased retention are great reasons to use videos in addition to e-learning programs or with performance support tools. The more of the material that a learner learns has access to the better, also the adaptability of on-demand videos to either be used to increase or boost morale or even giving quick techniques for representatives to do certain tasks in half the time. The idea of introducing on-demand videos into your training repertoire is one that should be made into reality.
If you see the same thing happening in your organization I urge you to click on the hyperlink below and read the article about E-Learning to educate yourself and your organization’s E-Learning dissenters

Confused with learning technologies
When working with technology in the field of Organizational Development (OD) you have to be part tech guru part tech expert, although these sound like the same thing they are not. When I say part tech guru I mean more along the definition lines of a teacher, because clients will at one time or another want to use the latest technologies to streamline their business practices and evolve in the marketplace to stay competitive.
Therefore, being a teacher of learning technologies is not just limited to the employees who use the application and the professional who introduces it, but the client as well. You will need, to sum up, tons of knowledge to quickly explain what learning technologies are good for them.
Sometimes an organization will want you to thoroughly explain the choices but when there is time, and usually time is a resource that is not always found readily available. But to this, you must also be a little bit of a tech expert so you will need to know terminology like LMS and LCMS the difference between the two learning systems and how your client systems are compatible (or not) with the various system choices.
In regards to that, I have found an article called: “Confused with learning technologies? Choose your best option” By Abdul Razzaque Hussain which gives an overview into three aspects you and your client will need to consider when deciding upon implementing learning technology systems into the organization. This is great for OD professionals, students, and anyone with any interest regarding using learning technologies in their organization just click on the link below for more information:
